2022 Regional Training Event

February 25-26 at the Long Beach Marriott, Long Beach, CA

MACS is changing things up for 2022.  We will be holding smaller, regional Training Events in several cities during the first quarter of 2022.  This event at the Long Beach Marriott will take place on February 25-26 and will include networking opportunities, a vendor show and “top shelf” Mobile A/C Training.

Schedule of Events

Friday, February 25
2-4pm – Section 609 Certification Prep Class and Test w/ Gary Villa.
This is an additional fee. Registration is required.

Saturday, February 26
8-8:30am – Registration & Continental Breakfast
8:30-11:30am – Mobile A/C Training (see details below)
11:30am-1pm – Lunch and Vendor Show
1:15-4:15pm – Mobile A/C Training (see details below)

Mobile A/C Training Details

Mobile A/C Best Practices for Car and Light Duty Truck w/ Gary Villa

 This course describes “Best Practices” service and repair methods pertaining to mobile A/C systems. When adhered to, the procedures outlined in this program should help assure more accurate diagnoses, high-quality long-lasting repairs, reduction of comebacks and increased customer satisfaction. Its “Boot Camp” style approach delivers “everything you need/nothing you don’t” in a fast-paced, highly informative manner. Major subjects the course covers include:
A/C Systems: What They Do and How They Do It
A/C System Components: Description and Operation
A/C System Refrigerants and Oils
Essential A/C System Service Practices and Precautions
Mobile A/C System Temperature Testing

Heavy Duty and Off-road Mobile A/C Best Repair Practices w/ Tom Potter

Technicians will receive a thorough overview of heavy-duty truck and off-road mobile A/C systems, diagnosing, troubleshooting and real-world repair scenarios.

School Bus Air Conditioning Systems and Service w/ Jerry Lemon   
8:30-11:30am/1:15-4:15pm (Repeats in the afternoon)

The presentation will cover the basics of school bus air conditioning for most applications. It will cover performance requirements and basic system arrangements. It will reference some of the State-required performance standards in place. The presentation will also include service requirements for some of the more common A/C systems being used on school buses around the country; upgrades that can be performed to increase performance during services, things to look for, failure characteristics, important service processes, and other items related to the servicing of School Bus A/C systems.
