Topic Description
Peter McArdle
Following a thirty-year career with Standard Motor Products, Peter recently retired as a sales and technical instructor and content developer at the company’s corporate training center in Irving, Texas. He has participated in several ASE test writing workshops for air-conditioning and has presented at MACS Annual Conference for almost twenty years.
When Peter moved to the training center, the aftermarket faced many challenges due to the difficulties associated with the industry transition from R-12 to R-134a. This period marked a turning point, successfully repairing R-134a systems required far greater precision and understanding. In response to this, Peter developed new and persuasive training content that addressed these new challenges to be shared with the industry.
Peter hopes that his experience developing and delivering training content, and understanding the firsthand experience of technicians repairing automotive air-conditioning systems, can help provide relevant input to the board in the area of technician education.
