Peter’s Race to Raise Awareness for Make-A-Wish

Today, January 10, 2024, our President, Peter Coll, will be joining Subaru in their annual 48Hrs of Tri-State Drive for Charity. Many of you may have never heard of this event, but it’s the longest running, Subaru supported, charity fundraiser in America. This event is now in its 23rd year. Today’s blog will cover all the details leading up to Peter’s drive across states from New Jersey to Indiana.

Make A Wish

How does one become a part of something so intriguing? Simple. To enter, all participants must sign up through Subaru’s link to Make-A-Wish New Jersey. Make-A-Wish is a charity in which raises money to help grant “wishes” for kids suffering from critical, life-threatening medical conditions. In doing so, participants donate to the cause, which acts as their entry fee. All proceeds go directly to the Make-A-Wish foundation, greatly impacting the lives of the critically ill kids and their families.

The wish kids are some of the most brave, sweet, and endearing kids you will ever come to know. Their wishes are something many people considered “healthy”, would often overlook. This includes pushing all the buttons in a tall building’s elevator or riding on a boat. Many kids won’t even make wishes for themselves, but instead wish for something that could positively affect their loved ones. These wishes include a new car for their family who struggle to afford one or a bike for their sibling to enjoy.

MACS Gives Back

The MACS staff supports several charitable and community causes throughout the year including local food banks, back to school supplies and Toys for Tots. As for Make-A-Wish, this foundation is something our president, Peter, actively participates in throughout the year including joining this annual Subaru event. Last year, the 48Hrs raised over $143,000 for Make-A-Wish. This year their hopes are to raise over $200,000 for the cause! We believe in Peter’s efforts to reach this goal!
