As many of you may already know, I have just worked and participated in my first MACS Training Event and Trade Show this past week. I have to say, although it required a lot of hard work and long work hours compared to usual, I had a BLAST. My favorite part, especially, was getting to meet all of those who typically communicate with me via email or phone, face to face for the first time!

Training Event & Trade Show Kick-Off

Golfers in Carts

My week kicked off with golf on Wednesday, January 31 where I was able to see the skills and abilities of our talented guests on the green! From what I was told, the day was much more excitable in the sunny Florida weather compared to last year’s ice storm in Nashville, although that never stops our dedicated participants in getting in their rounds. Later that evening our golfers were presented with their first place, second place, third place, and last place awards. Overall, the atmosphere was great and there were many great raffle prizes provided by our wonderful member companies.

Throughout the remainder of the weekend, we had our speakers put on some of the most knowledgeable classes in the mobile A/C community, providing our guests with some great insight on the current and future state of A/C and how it will affect the industry. We had so many great speakers and topics to cover on Thursday, our guests came back for more on Saturday!

On Friday, we put on our tradeshow that had so many wonderful booths displays and new products to showcase. Congratulations to our winners of the New Product Showcase: FMSI Edelmann Fittings, Tracer Products, and Globus Electronics! We also had few great discussion meals from Carm Capriotto’s Keynote Lunch to the General Session with Chenise Farquharson, to the Town Hall Discussion with Ted Hughes. Moreover, we awarded our 2024 pioneer recipients: Larry Hays, Robert Brocx, & Tom Massey. MACS would also like to thank the wonderful students from Ridge Technical College and Heritage High School Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair for joing us on Friday to check out the Trade Show and get 609 certified!

Alexa’s Thoughts & Thank You’s

Heading into the TE&TS, I was told what to expect but still wasn’t quite able to grasp the situation until being there. There is so much hard work that goes on in the months leading up to it as well as while at the show. Lynn Fee, our Vice President of Accounting really filled in the major shoes of our former Events Manager, Pam Smith, to make the TE&TS a hit for another year! Steve Schaeber, Peter Coll, Lisa Medina, Maria Watchous, and our new Executive Director, Megan Capie also played pivotal roles in making sure the event was successful.

Thanks as well to our team back in the office, Barbara Wheeler, Gisele Horrell, & Victoria Petit who were able to oversee the office operations while we were away! Overall, it was a wonderful time to get to meet everyone, listen to the intriguing topics of the mobile A/C community, and hear from our guests how much they enjoyed the event.

We look forward to seeing everyone next year at our 2025 Training Event & Trade Show at the Rosen Centre Hotel in beautiful Orlando, FL.
