Staff Spotlight: Steve Schaber

By: Alexa Murphy

Since its founding in the 1980s, MACS has been dedicated to supporting its members, always seeking new ways to serve. This wouldn’t be possible without our exceptional team working diligently behind the scenes. With that in mind, we’re thrilled to introduce Steve Schaeber, our Manager of Service Training & Technical Editor at MACS!

Meet Steve, Service Training Manager & Technical Editor

Steve, born and raised in Newtown, PA, like Maria, has lived in various places across the U.S. and now resides in Lansdale, PA. He has been in the automotive industry since 1989 and joined MACS in 2013. However, his journey with MACS began in 2006 when he was a professor at Montgomery County Community College, which leased the MACS classroom and shop facilities for its automotive degree programs. After the college closed its automotive program, Steve transitioned into his current role with us.

One of Steve’s favorite aspects of MACS is our members and the daily interactions he has with them. His fondest memories revolve around the Annual Training Event and Trade Show, where the entire MACS family gathers to drive the industry forward. A key lesson Steve has learned at MACS and in the industry is, “make your career something you enjoy, so you’ll never work a day in your life.” Another significant challenge he has tackled at MACS is mastering our database, IMIS, which he says has been his hardest challenge so far.

Outside of MACS

Outside of MACS, Steve enjoys working on cars and motorcycles, as well as off-roading with quads and Jeeps. One of his dream cars is the Jeep XJ/YJ, and you can find his YJ here at MACS in our garage. While working, Steve loves listening to 90s/00s rock music, his favorite genre.

MACS extends its gratitude to Steve for his hard work and dedication in organizing service training events and creating content for our social media channels and website. He also forges lasting connections for MACS as an automotive expert and provides our staff with valuable advice on all their automotive concerns, from buying a car to troubleshooting issues.

Thank you, Steve, for your commitment and passion!
